QR Code Size Requirements: How Big Should a QR Code Be?

Print Size

For printed materials, a minimum size of about 2×2 cm (around 0.8×0.8 inches) is often recommended for standard scanning distance. For posters or signs viewed from farther away, use a larger code—e.g. 10×10 cm or more.

Digital and Screen

On websites or screens, a clickable area of at least 200×200 pixels is comfortable on mobile. Our generator lets you choose output size (e.g. 256–512 px) so you can match your layout.

Error Correction and Complexity

Longer URLs or more data produce denser QR codes. If you need a smaller physical size, use a short URL or lower error correction. Our generator uses a balanced error correction level by default.
